Flexible packaging continues to be the preference for both brand owners and consumers. According to a recent study conducted by Packaging World, 97% of brand owners currently using flexible packaging said they will continue to use the same amount or more flexible packaging in the next five years. 80% of brand owners agree that flexible packaging significantly influences brand value.
Consumers also seek the convenience and reliability of flexible packaging. In a recent Harris Poll survey, the top three packaging attributes according to consumers are: the ability to reseal flexible packages; flexible packages are easy to open and flexible packaging is easy to store. Consumers are are willing to spend more money for flexible packaging. The Harris Poll also showed that 60% of consumers will pay more for flexible packaging attributes that offer the ability to reseal, easy opening and extended shelf life.
